Classes are Iyengar based Hatha Yoga. All classes work on alignment, strength, flexibility, balance and core and will have detailed instruction. You are welcome to join any class, however the levels are to enhance your practice and give you an idea of what to expect when you come to class.
Working to become more familiar with the poses. Developing strength and more flexibility.We will continue to work on preparations for Inversions, backbends, and longer held postures, breath work and meditation. All levels welcome.
This class is for students who have been practicing for 6 months to a year. Strong knowledge of the poses and ready for a challenge. Teachers are welcome.
This is a great class after Intro to Yoga or if you have never attended a yoga class. A gentle slower pace with plenty of instruction provided. Sometimes students just prefer to practice at this level instead of the more challenging classes.
Yin yoga is a quiet practice done on the floor. Yin addresses the parts of our body that lie closest to our core: bones and connective tissues. Mainly working above the knees and below the navel to help open our hips and learn to cultivate a deeper quiet practice. One of the benefits of Yin is to prepare the body for meditation. Helps to counter the shortening of connective tissue and stiffness that come with prolonged sitting, age or immobility.
Flow uses the postures of yoga with music to string together a dynamic and invigorating flow. Easy to follow instructions are given throughout the class. Flow combines the beauty of dance with the form and precision of Hatha yoga. Some knowledge of the postures is helpful.
We will alternate between Yin and restorative poses. Long supported holds, some restful and some getting down deep into places that need some attention.
Slow paced class, using chairs, walls, and props, all to help guide you safely into poses. We will work on stretching, balance, strength building, breathing and relaxing.
Saturday 3 Hour Intensives
The first Saturday of each month 1-4pm we will have the luxury of a 3 hour practice. Taking the time to slow down and explore more in all aspects of your practice. Long warm ups, breaking down poses, Vinyasa sequences, Inversions, Pranayama, Meditation and long Savasanas. Each class will be a different theme.
